160 acres of un spoilt forested wilderness, with its contiguous family ownership dating back to the 1950's. "Schmidt's" is one of the last remaining privately owned tracts amongst the commercially forested Strzelecki Ranges.

Much of the Strzelecki ranges have succumb to mono culture plantations, either pine or other commercial hardwood species.

this rugged landscape with its deep tree fern shaded gullies and timbered Blackwood ridges, provide a safe, sustainable habitat for the region's prolific native wildlife population.

 Even during daylight hours, Lyrebirds and Wallabies emerge to graze along the quiet mountain tracksides verges.

Two-thirds of the holding remains untouched temperate rainforest, providing a rare and significant remnant of the original climatic climax forest of the Strzelecki Ranges. Covering an area comparable in size to Tara Valley National Park, this unique natural landscape is a defining feature of the property.

 At around 400 metres above sea level, this property is positioned in a similar biosphere to the nearby 'protected' towering Mountain Ash forests of Tarra Bulga National parks along the Grand Ridge Road

After multi-generational ownership, the current custodians are now motivated to assign responsibility to younger 'like minded' owners.
